Williams breaks school record in opener

London Johnson scored 21 points to lead LaGrange Academy past Mount Paran Christian 66-49 on Tuesday night. However, it was a different player making big plays down the stretch for the Grangers, who improved to 1-0 this season.

Sophomore Matt Williams broke the school's single-game record with 10 3-pointers and finished with 32 points.

Williams made 8 of his 10 shots from 3-point range in the second half, including three straight to end the third quarter and give LaGrange a 49-39 lead.

The previous school record was nine, set by Justin Hughes in 2018.

Lee scores 20 in North Murray win

Kyler Lee scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as North Murray defeated Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe 57-42 on Tuesday night.

The Mountaineers improved to 1-0 this season, while the Warriors fell to 0-1.

Lee was 8-of-11 shooting from the field, including 2-of-3 from 3-point range. He also hit 2-of-4 free throws.

North Murray led 14-10 after the first quarter and 28-16 at halftime.

Johnson has big night for Woodland

UAB signee Keon Johnson had a big night for Woodland-Stockbridge in a 79-58 win over Drew on Tuesday night.

Johnson scored 26 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 5 assists.

Woodland improved to 2-0 this season, while Drew fell to 0-2.

Johnson was 9-of-15 shooting from the field, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range. He also hit 5-of-7 free throws.

McClung leads Trion to win

Jamychal McClung scored 18 points to lead Trion to a 52-45 win over Gordon Central on Tuesday night.

The Bulldogs improved to 1-0 this season, while the Warriors fell to 0-1.

McClung was 6-of-11 shooting from the field, including 2-of-4 from 3-point range. He also hit 4-of-6 free throws.

Trion led 13-10 after the first quarter and 26-21 at halftime.
