Mumbai Rains Floods AajTak LIVE Hindi News

Mumbai city is facing heavy rainfall which has halted local trains, shut schools, cancelled flights and submerged many areas.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Mumbai, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in the city and suburbs over the next 24 hours.

The city has been experiencing incessant rainfall since Saturday night, with some areas receiving over 100 mm of rain in just a few hours. The downpour has led to flooding in several low-lying areas, including Sion, Dadar, and Kurla.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has deployed its disaster management teams to pump out water from flooded areas and clear roads of debris. However, the heavy rains have also caused traffic snarls across the city, with many roads becoming impassable.

The Mumbai Police have advised citizens to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel. The city's BEST buses are also not operating in several areas due to flooding.

The heavy rains are expected to continue for the next few days, and the IMD has warned of possible waterlogging and flooding in low-lying areas.
