Julian Nagelsmann: From Player to Manager
Early Life and Playing Career
Julian Nagelsmann was born on July 23, 1987, in Landsberg am Lech, Germany. He began his professional playing career with FC Augsburg in 2007. Nagelsmann played as a central defender for several clubs, including 1860 Munich and Hoffenheim.
Injury and Coaching Career
However, Nagelsmann's playing career was cut short due to a knee injury. He was forced to retire as a player at the age of 23. Shortly after, he transitioned into coaching.
Coaching Career
Nagelsmann's coaching career began with the youth teams of Hoffenheim. In 2016, he was promoted to manager of the club's senior team, becoming the youngest manager in Bundesliga history.
Under Nagelsmann's guidance, Hoffenheim achieved significant success, finishing in the top six of the Bundesliga for three consecutive seasons and reaching the Champions League play-offs. In 2019, he moved to Bayern Munich, where he won the Bundesliga, the DFB-Pokal, and the UEFA Super Cup.
Germany National Team
In 2021, Nagelsmann was appointed as the manager of the Germany national team. His mission is to lead the team to success in the 2024 UEFA European Championship on home soil.
