Juneteenth: A Day of Celebration and Education
Three years after it was made a federal holiday, Juneteenth 2024 marks a day of celebration as well as education. Juneteenth is a celebration of Black history and freedom that went relatively unnoticed by White Americans for many years.
Six Federal Holidays Remain in 2024
After Juneteenth, six federal holidays remain in 2024:
- Independence Day - July 4, 2024
- Labor Day - First Monday in September (September 2, 2024)
- Columbus Day - Second Monday in October (October 14, 2024)
- Veterans Day - November 11, 2024
- Thanksgiving Day - Fourth Thursday in November (November 28, 2024)
- Christmas Day - December 25, 2024
The Federal Reserve Bank will be closed on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 for the Juneteenth National Independence Day Holiday.
