Early Life and Career

Conor Anthony McGregor, born Conchúr Antóin Mac Gréagóir on July 14, 1988, in Dublin, Ireland, is an Irish professional mixed martial artist and professional boxer. He began his martial arts training at a young age, excelling in both boxing and wrestling.

UFC Success

McGregor made his UFC debut in 2013 and quickly rose through the ranks due to his aggressive fighting style and charisma. In 2015, he became the UFC featherweight champion by defeating José Aldo in a record-breaking 13 seconds. A year later, he added the UFC lightweight championship to his collection by overcoming Eddie Alvarez. McGregor is the first fighter in UFC history to hold titles in two weight classes simultaneously.

Crossover to Boxing

In 2017, McGregor took a hiatus from the UFC to face undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a highly anticipated boxing match. Despite a valiant effort, McGregor was defeated via tenth-round knockout.

Return to the UFC

After his boxing excursion, McGregor returned to the UFC in 2018. However, his comeback was short-lived, as he suffered a loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov in a highly publicized lightweight title fight. McGregor went on a three-year hiatus from the sport before announcing his return in 2021.
