Early Life and Career

Born on November 14, 1998, Chennedy Carter is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Carter began her basketball journey at Mansfield High School in Texas before committing to the University of Texas at Austin.

College Career

At Texas, Carter established herself as one of the most dynamic guards in NCAA Division I. During her three-year college career, she averaged 19.2 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game. In her sophomore season, she was named the Big 12 Player of the Year and led the Longhorns to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

Professional Career

Carter entered the WNBA draft in 2020 and was selected fourth overall by the Atlanta Dream. However, her professional career has been marked by both success and challenges.

WNBA Career

During her rookie season with the Dream, Carter was suspended indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team. After sitting out the 2021 season, she returned to the league in 2022 and joined the Chicago Sky. In her first season with the Sky, she averaged 14.0 points per game and helped the team reach the WNBA Finals.

In 2023, Carter had a brief stint with a professional team in Turkey before clearing waivers and becoming a free agent.
