Alejandro Tabilo Vs Juan Pablo Ficovich

Alejandro Tabilo Battles Through to Brasilia Final, Defeating Juan Pablo Ficovich

Tenacious Chilean Prevails in Thrilling Semi-Final

Santiago, Chile - November 25, 2023

Chile's Alejandro Tabilo has advanced to the final of the ATP Brasilia Challenger tournament after a hard-fought semi-final victory over Argentina's Juan Pablo Ficovich.

In a match that lasted over three hours, Tabilo ultimately triumphed in straight sets, 7-6(5), 7-5. The first set was a close affair, with both players exchanging breaks of serve before Tabilo eventually emerged the winner in a tense tiebreaker.

The second set followed a similar pattern, with Ficovich breaking Tabilo's serve early on. However, the Chilean refused to be rattled and broke back immediately. The set ultimately went down to another tiebreaker, which Tabilo again won to seal his place in the final.

Tabilo's performance was characterized by his relentless determination and solid groundstrokes. The Chilean, who is currently ranked 123rd in the world, played with great intensity and never allowed Ficovich to establish any rhythm.

In the final, Tabilo will face either Brazilian Thiago Monteiro or Austrian Gerald Melzer. The Chilean will be hoping to secure his first ATP Challenger title of the season and continue his impressive rise up the rankings.
